Xaman Kryger is a Los Angeles-based violinist with a rich background in chamber and orchestral music. Her passion for the violin began at an early age after witnessing a captivating performance at the Del Mar Fair. After a year of persistent requests, she began her violin journey, which has now spanned over two decades of dedication and love for the instrument.
Born in Mexico and raised in San Diego, Xaman was deeply influenced by her cultural heritage. Her involvement in Ballet Folklorico led her to discover a profound connection with the music she performed, eventually joining the esteemed Mariachi Juvenil mi México. With this professional ensemble, she performed at various events, including weddings, quinceañeras, and other celebrations. One of the group’s highlights was opening for the world-renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán and appearing on prominent networks like UniVision.
Before relocating to the Santa Clarita Valley in 2007, Xaman was a member of the San Diego Youth Orchestra. She later joined the Symphony of the Canyons at the College of the Canyons (COC), where she served as Concertmaster for over a decade. Currently, she holds the roles of Executive Director and Strings Coach for the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra (SCVYO) and is the Concertmaster for the local Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to her performance career, Xaman teaches violin and viola in the Santa Clarita Valley and freelances throughout Los Angeles. When not performing or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her beloved cat, Rose.
